Red International of Labor Unions

Problems of Strike Strategy

Decisions of the International Conference on Strike Strategy

Held in Strassburg, Germany, January, 1929

Establishing Contacts with Trade Union Organizations in Other Countries

Notwithstanding the fact that the conflicts in Northern France in Munchen-Gladbach, and in Lodz occurred almost simultaneously, there was no contact between these various workers. Such contact during the strike would have been of great benefit. Therefore, in this regard it is necessary to do the following:

1. It is desirable to elect special delegations to establish contact with workers of other districts and industries.

2. In the case of huge strikes, it is desirable that the strike committee appeal to all workers in foreign countries for support.

3. Information should be released to the international press on the development of the strike and the methods of struggle.

4. Send regular reports to the Profintern and Comintern regarding every detail of the conflict.

5. Expose the inactivity and antagonism of the reformist internationals to the strike.
