The first of three special UCU union Holocaust Memorial meetings took place in Brighton yesterday, Monday 18 January.
Sally Hunt, the UCU’s general secretary, chaired the meeting. University workers, students and members of the public took part in a day-long debate about anti-semitism and how to fight it today.
Further meetings are planned in Newcastle this week and London next Wednesday 27 January, on Holocaust Memorial Day.
The union has also produced a giant Holocaust Educational poster that lecturers and teachers can order and use in their schools and colleges.
