Bolivia’s Foreign Minister, Guevara, has made a declaration in New York that the Nationalist regime is “anti-Communist”. The Labour minister in the present cabinet is not a representative of the labour unions, but a representative of the rightist Catholic Action, who is used against the unions by the President. People are now talking about a new devaluation of the currency, a step which would hit the workers and peasants most of all. The Nationalist regime is frankly turning to the right, and the “Left” is passively waiting for a saviour. The Trotskyist POR will probably pay for its pro-Nationalist policy in the same way that the Stalinists did – with its disintegration and disappearance from the political scene.
