Encyclopedia of Trotskyism On-Line: Revolutionary History, Vol. 7 No. 3

Letter

James Connolly

Dear Editor

I refer to the review of Aindrias Ó Cathasaigh’s James Connolly: The Lost Writings (Revolutionary History, Volume 7, no. 2, pp241–3). Your reviewer is mistaken in saying that Nora Connolly-O’Brien was married to William O’Brien. Sorry, it’s the wrong O’Brien. Incidentally, two of her sisters were married to people with Trotskyist tendencies – Bob Edwards and Dick Beech. Otherwise the review was fair and interesting. Connolly was not just an Irish revolutionary, but fought the fight in Scotland and the USA, and was an internationalist to the end.

Readers may be interested to note that Ó Cathasaigh is associated with the journal Red Banner, the address of which is PO Box 6587, Dublin 6, Ireland.

Please make sure that Revolutionary History is in stock in Bookmarks.

Fraternally
