The BAY AREA REVOLUTIONARY UNION expresses its support for the Chinese people and government and condemns the armed provocations initiated by the reactionary leadership of the Soviet Union against the territory and peoples of China; first, at Chenpao Island on the eastern border of China and later in a number of areas on the border of Sinkiang Province.
We have no hesitation in affirming that the statements of the Chinese government are truth and that the statements of the Soviet government are a tissue of lies. We do this in full confidence. We have come to appreciate the support of the Chinese people to all revolutionary struggles against imperialism and to recognize the principled integrity of their words and deeds.
We have just as surely come to deplore the betrayal of the revolutionary Soviet peoples in recent years by their counter-revolutionary ruling clique and to recognize their two-faced declarations as attempts to justify their reprehensible acts. The armed occupation of Czechoslovakia and the armed incursions into China are only the latest in a series of such acts. The Chinese people are quite correct when they label these traitors to the Soviet Revolution as social-imperialists – socialist in name but imperialist in fact.
The Soviet leadership has warned the Chinese that they have missiles pointed at China. Well, that makes two of a kind. Our imperialists also have their missiles pointed at China. The enemy of our enemy is our great friend. Troops are mobilized, bombs are made ready and aggressive war to jointly recarve China is plotted in the general staffs and on the highest levels of the U.S. and Soviet hierarchies. Our sincerest admiration for the steadfast courage of the Chinese leaders and people in standing up to this unholy alliance. The American people and the peoples of the world are in your great debt.
As Americans our primary target is our own imperialism. We also have a special feeling of solidarity with the Soviet peoples because we have comparable revolutionary tasks. Each of us has the responsibility to dethrone our imperialist scavengers. We are confident that, with the support of the Chinese people and the peoples of the world, both of us will complete our tasks.
Our ruling classes sit on uneasy seats and they know it. The more they shiver and shake, the more they collaborate. The more they collaborate, the more they are exposed. The more they are exposed, the sooner their downfall.
