Despite a considerable and growing Hispanic population, there were no Spanish-language Socialist Federations through 1930.

Rafael Mallen was the first Spanish-Language speaker for the Communist Labor Party in the Fall of 1919; the party press offered local groups the opportunity of scheduling him as a speaker.
