Given the decree, whose tenor follows,

Decree of the National Assembly, of April 16, 1790

The National Assembly again places the Jews of Alsace and the other provinces of the Kingdom under the safeguard of the law. It prohibits all persons from attacking their safety; orders municipalities and the National Guard to protect their persons and property with all their power.

The King sanctioned and sanctions said edict and consequently orders the municipalities and National Guard to conform to it and to have it executed and observed.

Executed in Paris, April 18, 1790 and the sixteenth year of our reign
